Featured Job Opportunity: Accounting Manager

Shaker Square, Ohio

We are currently assisting our client in their search for an Accounting Manager to join their growing team.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate must be adaptive and comfortable with the dynamic of a fast-paced environment, this person should also have a proven track record as the top accounting professional in a similar sized company. Reporting to the executive leadership team, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in developing and enhancing existing financial and operational procedures to improve and maintain the health of the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Receivable including:
    • Review weekly reports with Managing Principals
    • Bank deposits of checks received
    • Monthly billing to clients
    • Review A/R aging
    • Work with client representatives regarding billing and payment
  • Manage Accounts Payable including:
    • Supervise Assistant Accounting Manager regarding consultant fees and invoices
    • Pay consultants
    • Review bills weekly with Assistant Accounting Manager; pay based on due date and cash status
    • Address vendor issues with Assistant Accounting Manager
  • Assist Project Management:
    • Review proposals when requested by Principals or Project Managers
    • Supervise set up of new projects in our accounting software
    • Supervise set up of fees for projects
    • Work with Principals and Project Mangers to manage client billing and consultant payment
    • Assist Principals and Project Managers with data and reports within Ajera
    • Setup and maintain the accounting/project management software
  • Manage Company Financials:
    • Prepare monthly financial reports under direction of outside CPA firm
    • Work with outside CPA firm in tax preparation and payments
    • Monitor cash flow on a daily basis
    • Manage all bank accounts, loans and credit cards
    • Manage principal distribution payments
    • Work with principals regarding mergers and joint ventures
    • Compensation & benefits strategy
    • Process payroll utilizing Paycor; manage 401k plan and new hire onboarding
    • Manage healthcare plan and employee participation
  • Other accounting, financial and workplace tasks as deemed necessary for this position

Qualified Candidates Should Possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Working knowledge of MS Office & project management software, Ajera is preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of experience managing the full-cycle accounting process; to include month-end closing, as well as the day-to-day accounting operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
