Your clients will include traditional business-to-business (B2B) and professional service firms in Northeast Ohio and beyond.

Director of Marketing

The Director of Marketing’s role is to lead the firm’s practice growth initiatives and guide the firm’s leadership team in making the proper investments in marketing and sales to achieve the firm’s vision and strategic goals.

The Director of Marketing will serve as part of the firm’s executive management team and will be expected to act as an agent of change by introducing, directing and driving innovative marketing strategies and tactics that go beyond leveraging marketing best practices in favor of next practices. In short—keep the firm at the forefront of the professional service firm industry from a marketing and sales perspective.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Work with firm’s Chairman, CEO and each of the line of business leaders to determine, develop and implement annual strategic marketing plans that align with and support the overall growth strategies of the firm. Plan objectives would include such things as:
    • Connecting marketing to sales by enhancing the sales and marketing culture of the firm
    • Developing programs to enhance client satisfaction and retention
    • Building the overall cultural acceptance level of the firm’s customer relationship management (CRM) system
    • Developing and implementing cross-sell culture and initiatives
    • Internally and externally building upon and strengthening the firm’s corporate brand
    • Increasing overall visibility of the firm in its geographic markets and industry niches
    • Leveraging digital marketing strategies and tactics that will further develop relationships, build the firm’s pipeline and increase brand strength
    • Increasing firm’s understanding of its clients’, employees’ and business partners’ needs to take better, more informed marketing approaches
  • Manage marketing budget for firm, regional offices and various lines of business
  • Oversee all internal and external marketing and sales communications
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, competitive activities and potential new opportunities that will advance the firm
  • Lead marketing campaigns and programs, including overall firm branding, advertising,thought leadership content, public relations strategy, events coordination, and service/product marketing
  • Enhance, manage and maintain the design, quality and overall appearance of all firm branded materials (i.e., proposals, presentations, forms, stationery, financial deliverables, folders, electronic communications, advertisements, etc.)
  • Continue to internally and externally build upon and strengthen the firm’s corporate brand
  • Develop and implement cross-selling initiatives
  • Understand prospective client journey and how to identify marketing qualified leads (MQLs) and develop and enhance seamless hand-offs to professional staff using these tools
  • Perform marketing analytics and utilize ROI measurements to refine marketing plans and provide better strategic direction and decision making around traditional and digital marketing strategies and tactics
  • Evaluates marketing ROI (both quantitatively and quantitatively) to demonstrate how marketing programs impact client relationships, the sales pipeline and brand strength
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, including business publications, newspapers and broadcast news outlets as appropriate
  • Lead and hone a winning marketing team
  • Supervise and manage 3-4 direct reports
  • Proactively contribute to the professional growth of junior level marketing team members
