We are currently searching for an Inventory Control Manager.


The Inventory Control Manager will lead the company in its work to provide certain and timely product so that all sales channels meet or exceed the company’s service proposition of order completion on a next day shipment basis balanced with our capital investments in inventory. The individual will work closely with internal contacts in the manufacturing and distribution facilities as well as external vendor contacts. Directly and indirectly responsible for maximizing inventory investment while minimizing excess and obsolete inventories for all of the company’s owned inventory. Manage inventory systems and forecasts to meet or exceed company fill rate and inventory investment goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Manage Purchasing Clerk and daily inventory replenishment process
  • Resolve issues with pricing, quantity, part numbers, receiving, working with distribution centers, office staff and vendor
  • Manage expediting and vendor report card program
  • Review management reports on service levels and inventory turns, implementing corrective action as required
  • Maintain and account for forecasting of products and product lines
  • Maintain accurate and up to date databases, to facilitate maximum performance of inventory planning systems
  • Monitor inventory planning systems regularly to ensure achievement of company goals, implementing corrective action as required
  • Take the lead, a quarterly effort, with channel leaders on a reset of stocking and discontinued SKUS
  • Some travel is required for, but is not limited to, supplier visits, sales representative visits, training seminars and facility visits
  • Requires business dealing with plant and distribution center managers and personnel
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in business preferred, a plus if in Materials Management; or 5-7 years Materials Management experience
  • AA plus if certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
  • A good understanding of the principals and techniques of Materials, specifically ERP/MRP systems
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Experience in inventory management, replenishment systems
  • High computer literacy
  • Able to prioritize tasks
  • Experience in supply chain with distribution or manufacturing business preferred
