Cleveland, Ohio (July 13, 2018) – Skoda Minotti, a national business advisory firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Jonathan J. Shoop, CPA, to partner.

Shoop leads the firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution Group. His experience includes more than 15 years in public accounting serving clients, and working at a multinational manufacturer. He joined Skoda Minotti in 2012.

Shoop’s areas of expertise include business advisory services, performing internal and external audit and attest services for publicly traded companies as well as large, middle market and smaller enterprises; buy/sell due diligence and technical accounting consultations; and performing cost studies/margin analyses on client and product profitability. He is also very active with MAGNET (Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network) and WIRE-Net.

Prior to joining the firm, Shoop worked as a manager of external financial reporting for a Cleveland-based manufacturing company. He began his career at an international accounting firm as a manager in its Audit practice. He was a lead manager of fieldwork teams on both PCAOB audits and private company audits, specializing in clients in manufacturing and distribution industries.

Shoop graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Active in his community, Shoop founded a nonprofit organization which provides representative bill-pay service to the chemically dependent and those with mental illness in Lake, Geauga and Cuyahoga counties. He is also active in campus recruiting at his alma mater, Kent State University. Additionally, Jon serves on the board of directors of Ravenwood Mental Health Center in Chardon, participates as a member of the Accounting Advisory Council at Kent State University, and serves on WIRE-Net’s Finance Committee.
