Public Relations/Content Director

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing about.”
– Benjamin Franklin

In David's Words

As a content director and former award-winning journalist, my talents lie in synthesizing information from a variety of sources, sifting through technical jargon, translating complicated concepts into easily accessible material and projecting a clean, straightforward tone. I’ve also run large client engagements and know how client service should really be delivered. Dependable, accountable and creatively charged, my professional experience spans more than 20 years.

I am accredited (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America. APR is the PR profession’s only national post-graduate certification program and its premier credential.

Past Experience

Since 2004, I owned and operated Vantage Communications, a boutique content development firm. Prior to that, I worked for several large Cleveland-area marketing firms. I began my career as an editor and reporter for newspapers and magazines.

Ask Me About

I’m a professional guitarist, with more than 30 years of live performance experience. I currently play with The FM Project, a Steely Dan cover ensemble; The Prime Directive, a jazz/blues ensemble, which I co-founded in 2000; ICON, a popular smooth jazz quintet; and The Nerve, a classic rock band featuring physicians and professionals from University Hospitals of Cleveland. I’m uniquely adept at depositing golf balls in heavily wooded areas and deep bodies of water. I enjoy reading about history, world events, politics and cosmology. Quantum mechanics is a mild interest, but not yet a full-blown hobby.
